This is why I photograph!

I have been blessed with the opportunity to learn from one of the greatest photographers on the planet! Saturday was my first class of three with Tony Corbell, the Master of Light.

Although, for the record....he mentioned that he'd rather be called 'The Shadow Chaser' instead. ;) And he wants a cape... What a goofy guy! Gotta love him.
Saturday was very important in my journey to becoming a better photographer. I not only learned many important skills regarding my equipment, how to use certain tools, and much about the "Ooh, so crucial" importance of light and dark...

...but I learned about the NEED of Inspiration.

Tony mentioned something that hit me hard.

We are photographers. We take pictures...we aren't discovering the cure for cancer.
However, what we do....can also change the world.

I am a photographer...I have the 'gift' of observation and the 'eye' to create ART.

I love my job.

Tony inspired me to look beyond the obvious...step out of the box, and find the "Extrodinary" out of the 'ordinary'.

This is the young lady I was privledged to photograph...

And this...is my Vision.
My art.

Why it takes me so long to post...

As many of you know...the last four months of my life have been devoted to this little one. I had my first child in March, and life has been crazy ever since! Crazy...but AMAZING!

Abbey Grace is the most adorable thing I've ever laid eyes on...even when she keeps me up all night. =) My hands and arms are often cradling her...which is why they find it difficult to make their way to the camera and keyboard.

I've been making my way back to photography slowly...as she needs much attention right now.

And...how I am blessed to have her!! I still can't believe that God has loaned her to me! So precious. I pray that I'm able to raise her for Him...
...to obey Him...
...and to love Him with all her heart.

Introducing...the Mr. and Mrs.

Yay! It's official! Adam and Sarah have tied the knot!

The wedding was so beautiful.
They actually decided to take their portraits at Balboa Park the night before. It was such a great idea! So much more time to play and have fun with the camera...and less stress!

Her dress was amazing! I loved the texture and the shadows that the fabric created...

The girls had these awesome parasols...such a cool idea.

And the guys...well, let's just say that I DON'T think Sarah had this in mind when she selected the men's wedding attire! Hello...Champion socks!?!?

Oops...I think that's my husband. =)

Never-the-less, these two were stunning!

I loved the way they looked at each other. So in love...

Again...the parasol. My new sister-in-law is so creative! Loved it.

My handsome bro...

I had so much fun with this beautiful girl...
Isn't she gorgeous??

This photo just screamed with personality!!!

These were the flowers...simple and elegant.

As for the bride and groom...

Just beautiful.

This one was really fun...and soooo appropriate it! (They are great dancers!)

Congratulations you two! May God bless your life together!
